How can I restrict my FTP users to a directory of my choice?

When you select a directory during the creation of a new user account you are securing a single location for that user. They will not be able to leave the directory structure you have selected during this process.

How can I give a FTP user their own CGI-bin?

Follow the steps below:
  1. Login to your site manager.
  2. Click on Domain Settings in left nav bar.
  3. Click on the Web Aliases tab.
  4. Click on New alias.
  5. Click on Script Alias in the popup that opens.
  6. Enter a relative URL for the new CGI-bin.

Example: /new-bin/ this would create a URL for the cgi-bin of http://your-domain.com/new-bin/.

  7. Enter an absolute path.

This would be a full path to the directory called new-bin you created for the ftp user. Generally you would put this as a subdirectory of the path you assigned the FTP user.

You also have the ability to create Web aliases for each individual sub domain or parked domain you add to your account. Just select the domain name from the list before clicking on New Alias to apply the changes to that domain.

Note: All accounts do not have the ability to add parked or sub domains.
